Study Locations by Krisha Shah
Switching up your study location can help you focus a lot more. For me, I realized this during my first year of high school, when I began actually studying for exams. Constantly studying in only one place, like your room, can become tiring. For me, my desk became my study location, and I started to avoid it. There was nothing exciting about the desk, and it got annoying to only stay in that one location. Over time, I found that switching up my study locations allowed me to focus a lot better. I began with finding different places to study around my house. I was able to focus a lot better because the environment was no longer depressing. It was something different, which was exciting. Beside my experiences, studies have been conducted that explain why changing study locations work. Studies have shown that each location has something different which can stimulate the brain in a different way. For instance, the lighting in one location is different from another, which can stimulate our thoughts in another way. Studies have also shown that a change in scenery can motivate students. Studies have shown various impacts that changing locations has on individuals, and pushes students to do this. Over the years, I have seen improvement in my studying from changing locations and have found studies that show this improvement, which is why I push everyone else to do the same.
