My opinion on social media trends by Alyssah Alvarez

My opinion on social media trends

Social media trends are constantly changing almost every day, influencing how people dress, act, communicate, and form opinions. Social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok are some of the biggest influences in our lives. Some of these trends include dances, challenges, fashion, music, and controversial opinions. But, the truth is: do we genuinely like these trends, or are we just afraid of missing out?

Over the years, countless trends have emerged. Some of these trends have even turned ordinary people into popular influencers overnight. Social media is a place where people can express themselves and be creative. Some trends can motivate people to do certain things, whether they’re good or bad. Some can motivate people to improve themselves. Some can change the way people dress. Some can change the way people communicate and talk.  The power these trends have on all of us is endless. Millions of people worldwide follow them, and that’s what makes them so powerful.

The real question is, why do so many people even follow these trends? These trends can make people feel more connected and make them feel like they belong. Some people are afraid of missing out on these exciting trends, which is why they follow them. When a trend becomes widespread, it’s easy to feel left out if you’re not involved. These trends shape our society and influence the way we think. While they might seem fun and exciting, the truth is that many people join in to simply fit in. Some people crave the feeling of acceptance, validation, and popularity.

These trends have shaped individuals in different ways. However, more people need to reflect on whether they genuinely enjoy the trends or are following them to fit in. It’s important to remember to stay true to yourself, regardless of what’s trending on social media. It can be easy to lose your true self because of the influence of these trends. Trends come and go, but your uniqueness will stay with you and last forever.
