Plot summary

This book is about six friends who go on a fun, relaxing road trip together for spring break. Their RV mysteriously breaks down in the middle of the desert, leaving them stranded with no cell service. When they try to figure out what is wrong, they realize the situation they’re in is more dangerous than they thought. A dangerous, unknown threat has been watching them, leaving them stuck in the middle of nowhere with no way to escape. They must survive, and they have no way to call for help. As the night goes on, pressure, tension, and secrets between the friends start to build. They have to work together to try to survive the night. They eventually start to question their trust in each other as they try to escape the dangerous situation.

Themes

Several themes appear throughout this book. A few of them are trust, betrayal, and fear. As the night unfolds, their friendships are tested. At first, the six friends believe they know everything about each other, but they quickly start to realize that they might not. They start to question if they actually know each other well. Some have hidden secrets that cause their situation to become more dangerous. They start to turn on each other, which does not help them survive. Building trust takes time and breaking it can be very easy, especially in times of fear. Their fear causes them to make some decisions that are not the smartest. It also causes them to become scared of trusting each other. They start to become more suspicious of each other, which makes it harder for them to survive together. This book demonstrates trust, betrayal, and fear in a way that is suspenseful and interesting to read.

My thoughts on the book

I loved this book because of the amount of suspense it has. It hooked me on from the very beginning to the very last page and I couldn’t stop reading it. Personally, I am not a big fan of mystery and thriller books. However, I still thought this book was incredibly interesting. It has so many different plot twists that you would never expect. The plot itself was very engaging, every chapter left me on my toes, wondering what would happen next. The way the author wrote this book made me feel like I was with the characters and experiencing the events. It felt easy to visualize the scene and what was happening in the story. The characters were mysterious, complex, and relatable at the same time. The characters are forced to face their fears and confront each other. Overall, I believe this exciting and thrilling book is worth reading.
