Delirium Fanfiction- Hana
Saanvi Kunisetty
Bombs were perpetually exploding behind me, sending shattered glass shards soaring through the air. The pale blue sky turned a grotesque shade of hideous blue. The smoke gave off a flatulent and unbearable smell.
Regardless of the chaos, I trudged on, my previously beautiful makeup now sweaty, gradually trickling down my face. My hair was probably now a bird’s nest, though Lena had always envied it. And then it happened.
It was as though sparks were igniting within my body, building up pressure, increasing my anxiety. He had brunette hair with streaks of blonde, like the glistening sun in July. His face was gently creased with lines of concern and devastation. His now brutally bloody and charred hands were tightly grasping the body of a motionless, thin girl. The decimated world around me suddenly vanished, and only the boy, the girl he was clutching onto, and I, were left.
I ran toward him, harder than ever, and that missing piece of me finally came. I had found what I needed. The angst rose up in my body, but I couldn’t stop.
I sprinted towards him, and strongly pressed myself into him. I leaned in, resting my head on his chest. He stumbled, regained his balance, and then gently laid down the girl in his hands.
“Tack,” I stated with a hint of desperation.
“Hana,” he replied. A trace of a smile began to dawn on his face, erasing away the last traces of devastation. The girl with hair as black as feathers of a raven lay forgotten. I grasped Tack even tighter, in a way of saying that Tack was all mine.
I would be brave. I would be strong. I would be fierce. For the sake of Tack. For the sake of love. For the sake of Delirium itself.
