After Truth: Disinformation and the Cost of Fake News was an exciting and well directed documentary, which, in my opinion, did a great job presenting how the rising phenomenon of fake news has impacted the public. One strength of this documentary was that both sides of the argument were argued, providing the sensation of reality within the documentary. It also presented different instances of fake news such as Walmart being a concentration camp and the Pizzagate conspiracy, and explained each one using evidence, statistics, and visuals. What made this documentary even stronger was that it not only interviewed and presented insights from experts and journalists, but also the affected citizens in the community, such as the gun-store owner. The weaknesses of this documentary are that there were many terms and vocabulary used throughout the film which were hard to understand. Hence, providing more context and definitions of such terms would have helped. Another weakness of this documentary is that it is subject to controversy and that people that are opposed to the position of the film can easily declare this whole film as more fake news. 

I would recommend this documentary to others as it did a phenomenal job informing the causes and effects of fake news in the society. It can help change your view on the spread and effects of fake news. Apart from emphasizing the influence of fake news on different platforms, the film also provided examples and visuals which helped reveal how fake news came to be. These visuals were very cool and informative as it presented the data in a way that stood out. By presenting different cases of the spread of fake news and its effect, it showed the gravity of this situation and the negative aspects to fake news. The numerous interviews in the documentary also made the documentary more effective in bringing out its point. Hence, I would certainly recommend this documentary to others as it elucidates different aspects of fake news in an effective way.
