Video game Review of Among Us by Adam Elbanby
You probably have heard or experienced the trending video game Among Us. It's a Mobile/PC game in which you join a server, ranging from 4-10 people, essentially the point of the game is to solve a murder mystery. Every person in the lobby spawns on a ship and before the game starts it reveals what character you are that round, you’re either an “impostor” or a “crewmate”. Out of the 10 people in the server 2 are “impostors”, and 8 are “crewmates”. The impostor’s job is to kill the rest of the people on the ship called “crewmates'' without being suspected. If you’re a “crewmate” your job is to complete your certain tasks, so your task bar can fill up and it reveals who are the impostors at the end if you get to survive that long. If an impostor kills someone, either the impostor himself or someone else can report their body. Then there's an emergency meeting held after the dead body is reported. In this emergency meeting, the users can communicate in a private chat and they must gather evidence/proof, and try to figure who is the impostor, and the impostors have to try and defend themselves without anyone really knowing it's them. After the meeting, there is a vote, and you have to vote on who is the impostor based on what you’ve seen and what has been discussed during the emergency meeting. Whoever gets the majority vote is ejected and the game will continue until either the crewmate or impostor is left standing. My friends and I have started to play together. The 10 of us would join a FaceTime call and play and it's a lot more fun when you get to talk other than typing in the chat. This makes the game a lot more intense and frightening. You have to be very focused and know what you’re doing and if you are the impostor you can get away with stuff if you know the right stuff to say at the right time. The game gets pretty severe once it gets closer to the end because the winner of the game is unpredictable. If you’re good at convincing and know how to present your case the game will be a piece of cake. If you’re not that type of person, you might struggle a little. Overall, I think the developers of the game did a great job on the concept and format of the game. I'm thrilled to see what comes next.
