Coco was an incredibly solid Pixar film and had incredible visuals, great music, and a touching story. Although I don't normally enjoy Disney movies all that much, Coco was a standout film and was one of the few Pixar movies that lived up to the idea of a solid, well-made animated movie for families. Coco follows the story of Miguel, a young Mexican boy who aspires to be a musician despite his family's protests. Through a twist of fate, Miguel finds himself in the Land of the Dead, where the musician that he was inspired by resides. The movie follows Miguel's story through the Land of the Dead and all the friends and enemies he makes. It's vibrant animation paints a bright and energetic setting in the home of the deceased, and the story is solid and well-done, and keeps itself simple but interesting. The songs that Miguel and his friends play are full of character and emotion, and the movie carries the colorful, festive atmosphere of the Day of the Dead through its entire runtime. Along with its vibrant tone is the typical Pixar emotion, and the tender moment in Coco was perhaps the most tear jerking I've seen in an animated film. Coco was an extremely well-done Pixar film and embodied everything that the studio is known to represent. 9/10.
