Fanfiction short story based on BTS written by Nidhi Gandhi

This is a short story that I wrote, it is a fanfiction with the characters from a band named BTS.

****************

Countless speeches were made and hundreds of medals handed out, leaving the The Airman Coining Ceremony close to over. This was the biggest moment in all of the trainee’s lives as a part of the United Air Force Basic Military since this day is when all the graduating trainees get a coin that denotes their rank and his unit and graduates from being a basic military trainee in the AirForce to an official Airman who is officially a part of the AirForce.

Amongst many family members in the stands waiting to go to their newly made Airmen was Kim Taehyung, who nervously pushed through the crowd of people, looking out for one face and one face only but to no avail, blaming the world for forcing him to wait for the moment he so desperately wants. Tae thought he would never find him as he pushed through the next group of people. Very few people are left now, and Tae was frantically looking across rows and rows of seemingly identical trainees, looking specifically for the one trainee that has his love.

As Tae looked around the sea of trainees standing in parade position and watched as trainees laughed, hugged, and cried along with their friends and family members, reminiscing the time they spent as trainees and what their future would look like.

Suddenly, Tae sees him, standing there in parade position, feet slightly spread apart and his hands behind his back, with his short cut hair covered by a cap, and his medals of achievement hanging proudly on his chest next to his nametag. Almost immediately, a smile broke out on Tae’s face as he set out running, the rose bouquet in his hands held tight as he jumped into the arms of his to the newly made Airman, and boyfriend of 4 years, Jeon Jungkook who enveloped him immediately.

The world stopped around Tae as he looked into his doe-like eyes which sparkled in excitement and joy. Tae didn’t even say hello before Kookie all but pushed his lips on Tae’s, pulling him into a deep kiss as the sun set around them.

“Come on,” Kookie said, a few minutes later, pulling away, “I need to do something before we go”

---

With Kookie’s help, the two maneuvered carefully through the crowd that was heading towards the exit, and came to a clearing where one lone Airman stood unmoving, despite the lack of people around. The Airman was a blond haired boy with dark brown eyes, and was significantly shorter than both he and Kookie. Tae noticed that his eyes were watery and ears were red, though, and his legs were shaking so badly as he tried to stay still.  His nametag read Airman Park Jimin.

A knowing look shone the boy’s eyes, and Taehyung’s stomach dropped as he realised only then that no one yet had tapped him out, even though the ceremony was over and almost everyone was gone.

Jungkook moved from Tae’s side, and he too, had tears in his eyes. Tae didn’t question what was going on, because by the look on the blond haired Airman, he knew this is something important, and that it was best not to intervene.

Jungkook took a step towards him, arms spread, the beginning of a hug, but just before he did, a loud exclamation of “Jimin-ah!” caused him to push back.

In the distance was a man with fluffy light brown hair, wearing a black suit with fancy dress shoes. He was flailing his arms as he ran towards them, almost tripping over his own feet multiple times on the way over. Speaking of feet, his ankle was completely covered by a black and really heavy looking boot, which was making it hard for him to move as quick as he wanted towards them.

Tae was really confused, but he watched in silence as the man brushed past both Tae and Kookie, and without a second glance he burst into tears as he collapsed into the ground with Jimin in his arms.

“Jiminie, baby, my mochi” he cried, trying to comfort Jimin but crying just as hard.

It was nothing less than a heartbreaking sight for Tae, he sympathizes with how the two were feeling since he was well acquainted with the overwhelming emotions that came after a long time of waiting.

Jimin wiped his tears, and said, “I thought you werent gonna come, Joonie, w-we fought and then I left and you didn’t come back”

“I’m so sorry, that was all my fault, please forgive me” Joonie said, shaking his head.

“You were forgiven a long time ago.. but where were you? More importantly, what happened to your foot?”

“Oh that..” Joonie said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck “ I fell down the bleachers and they had to call the medics. I told them I don’t need one but passerby wouldn’t let me go”

Jimin whined at the other’s explanation, and Joonie laughed. Kookie cleared his throat, catching their attention, and started to speak.

“I’m sure you’re really confused,Tae, so let me explain. This is Park Jimin, a fellow trainee that was moved into my squad a week before we finished training, and that,” he said, pointing to Namjoon,”is his boyfriend Kim Namjoon”. Tae nodded again, bowing to Namjoon.

“It’s nice to meet you, Namjoon-ssi”

“Pleased to meet you too, and call me Joon or Namjoon, no need for formalities”

At that Jimin smiled, and Kookie continued. “During our training, we always stuck together, touching through the end, and in that time, we became good friends. Jimin told me about how he worked overseas, and decided to finish his AirForce training here in the United States. He is, actually, quite senior to me in terms of ranking because he finished other overseas training already. Before the ceremony, Jimin told me about his family and how they weren’t able to come all the way here for his ceremony, and told me about Joon who is unable to be home for a long time because of work, and asked, if possible, for me to tap him out during the ceremony. I was honored of course, and agreed to do it for him”
