The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann Review by Aditi Patel

The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann Review by Aditi Patel

This book was very fun and incredible, it reminded me of the Harry Potter series. So, if you love Harry Potter then this series is great. The Unwanteds is a whole series by Lisa McMann, and her books are really good. The basic summary is that two twins are separated because of the society they live in. One of the brothers, Alex, is called “unwanted” and is taken to a different place, whereas Aaron, the other twin, is “wanted” and sent to university. This part of the book reminded me of the Divergent series. The story continues on where Alex meets other people like him, and is taken to a land of magic in essence. But everything is magical, and the way McMann describes what Alex sees is very interesting. The land is completely magical and the other “unwanteds” learn magic on the land. It was believed that the “unwanteds” were to be killed, but that clearly did not happen. Instead, they were taken to an amazing place. The “unwanteds” were magical people. I am a big fan of Harry Potter, and this book was just like it! I enjoyed this book very much, and suggest reading it. The other great thing about this book is that it isn’t just magic, but it also has adventure and action and some humor as well. The story also has a lot of friendships throughout the novel, and even the way that the characters interact with each other is great.
