Home on a Plate

By: Aditi Anumolu

The comfort of food always lasts

A taste of sweet and sour on the tongue

A warmth that the heart takes to the past

Turns a memory from when we were young

When the days feel heavy to bear

There is always a home cooked meal there

It is a guide into the warmth

A piece of  comfort that is full of worth

Steam rising from the pots on the stove

The kitchen filled with love

Each bite is like a hug

Each sip is like a smile that is snug
