Summer Nights, a poem By: Sachi Dixit

 Summer Nights

By: Sachi Dixit

Summer nights feel softer,

like the world finally exhales.

The air is warm,

and everything slows down.

Streetlights glow instead of flicker,

crickets fill the quiet world

and the sky feels closer

than it does during the day.

No school tomorrow.

No alarms.

Just time stretching out

like it’s on my side.

Laughter drifts from somewhere nearby,

windows are open,

and even my worries

feel smaller tonight.

I wrap myself in this moment,

this calm, cozy pause.

This night won’t last forever,

and I don’t want it to end yet.
