Top Four - 1. Manchester City 2. Manchester United 3. Chelsea 4. Spurs
Manchester City won the league last year and has only gotten better with the addition of Jack Grealish. They were unfortunate not to sign a striker, the only position that seems to be a weakness. Outside of this, the likes of Ruben Dias, Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, and Raheem Sterling should propel them this year. Due to these facts, it looks like they will repeat once again.
I believe Manchester United will come second because they have the quality to match up with their rivals. Furthermore, in my opinion, they are the closest to compete with City's quality, and realistically should be winning the league. The signings of Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho, and especially Cristiano Ronaldo have been incredible business. However, they lack a defensive midfielder that can create opportunities going forward. Fred is not up to the standards of the players around the league. This deficit places them in second.
Chelsea sits right behind United in third. After winning the Champions League, they are a force to be reckoned with. Romelu Lukaku has joined back and looks to continue his incredible goal-scoring career. Although they have won the Champions League, I do not believe they will win the league. Outside of Lukaku, the squad remains the same, and their competitors have improved massively. Therefore, I think they will emulate last season's result and finish third.
The final spot belongs to the Spurs. Last year, they started the campaign in flying colors. They shot up to first at the beginning of the year. However, after that, they no longer were able to compete and maintain their positioning. This year I believe it will be different. Harry Kane is confirmed to stay one more year, and Heung Min Son is also still around. Under their new management and coaching, I think they will be able to live up to their potential and finish 4th.
Other Teams: Liverpool and West Ham are other teams that have goals of finishing in this top 4 realm. Unfortunately for them, the teams look more potent. Liverpool are a team that people think will finish higher, but they have been lackluster offensively. Also, they have not done the transferred business they needed. Their team is quality but still aging. I think this year they will be a surprise team to finish outside the top 4. As for West Ham, they are not a team that traditionally competes for the top 4 spots, but I do think they will be close. With more experience and business in the market, I think they will reach their aspirations shortly, but that time is not now.
