How to play Checkers by Aryan Doshi

  1. Set up the board - The board is an 8x8 grid with black and white alternating squares. Before putting any pieces down, make sure the board is in the correct position. Each player should have a white square on their bottom right. Then, place the pieces on every dark square in the first three rows.

  2. Starting the game - Players can only move forward diagonally, left or right. The pieces can only be in the dark spots. Furthermore, if there is a piece in the front diagonally, you can hop the piece, and it is removed. If there is an opportunity for multiple hops, you can do so.

  3. The objective of the game - The objective of the game is when your opponents have no more pieces.

  4. Additional rules - If your piece reaches the end of the board, it becomes a king. King pieces can move front and backward. Kings are represented with two pieces of checkers stacked on top of each other.

Checkers is an intriguing game, and everyone should learn how to play it. It is a quick solution to boredom, regardless of the simplicity. I enjoy playing checkers with my friends, and everyone would agree after playing.
