How do movies play a role in our lives?
Whether you’re watching movies just for fun or you’re making a movie to share a message to the whole world, movies are very important in today’s society. Movies are something that bring loved ones closer, or even two new friends because they may have the same interests. Movies are also here for us to give awareness about certain events in the world, and/or inform us to prevent something. Movies are also meant for entertaining us whether it’s through comedy, tragedy, romance, etc. to help us understand what we like and what we should know about the world. Sitcoms and comedy movies make us laugh, historical movies show us how we’ve evolved as people, and thrillers show us the current (technological) advancements in our world. Movies have been around for ages, and the main goal of them haven’t really changed too much now. Also, movies have been used as propaganda in wars by leaders such as Adolf Hitler in World War II. All in all, movies help us understand more about ourselves and about the world that we live in.
Understanding more about ourselves, and diving deeper into our own feelings is something that can be very hard for everyone. Movies can inspire others to try something new in their life, or even prevent something to save it. For example, Disney’s “Luca” has a message about friendship, and it can inform others about what it means to have a meaningful friendship in your life. Movies can also develop our diverse culture by creating a diverse world in their storylines. Romance movies can also make people dive deeper into their feelings for someone else because they prove how love is worth fighting for, and how it’s so critical in our lives. Today, many political/non-political leaders are trying to plunge our feelings out either for the benefit of themselves and/or for the benefit of everyone around them through movies to change their thoughts. Feelings are hard to get out of some people, and movies help feelings burst out of the bottle through comedy, tragedy, romance, thriller, or portraying guilt of not doing something beforehand. To sum up, movies have a very huge influence on us as they help us realize something about the current world through our feelings.
