Migration- A Poem About A Meat Worker’s Plight
Saanvi Kunisetty
A naive and oblivious childhood
Lacking endless, laborious days
But a salmon’s migration means
That those times are gone for good
Dung and dirt strewn everywhere
Severed fingers galore
We’re all nothing but captives
In this turbulent river of despair
A glimpse of the end ignites a spark
Past the tumultuous blows
My heart stops as I realize
The destination is nothing but dark
