A Stuck Ship Saanvi Kunisetty

 A Stuck Ship

Saanvi Kunisetty

The Ever Given ship was stuck in the Suez Canal for quite some time by now, due to high winds deterring it off its original path and wedging it into the Canal. After days and days of digging and pulling and unearthing, the ship was finally freed. Though the ship has been freed, a lot of devastating effects have been noted. The Suez Canal is one of the world’s most prominent pathways for shipping goods, and it being blocked for so long has caused several dilemmas. Our world now is highly interconnected, not only among states and cities, but at the international level as well. Hence, the blockage of this one pathway has caused global disruption. Many big containers have been stuck at sea due to this, and main transportation goods such as oil have been halted or slowed down. The Suez Canal was also a popular pathway for many factories in Asia to deliver things to Europe. The abstraction of this pathway has in turn caused major losses in revenue to several companies and countries. The hope is that the economies of those nations will be revitalized in the coming weeks.
