Trump’s Second Impeachment Trial

Donald Trump isn’t President anymore, so why impeach him? Many people are eager for Trump to be impeached, so that he will be prevented from running for office again. The first time trump was trying to be impeached, the number of people wanting to do so never reached a majority. But this time, according to many polls, including the CBS and ABC News polls, the number of people wanting Trump to be prohibited from running for office again has risen over 50 percent. And though a little over 50 percent may not seem like much, in our nation, were everyone’s thoughts are so diverse and different, passing the majority mark is definitely something significant and worth being aware of.
The impeachment trial actually began because Trump had urged many of his supporters and followers to storm the Capitol building. Regardless, Trump’s lawyers keep their stances, saying that Democrats only want to impeach Trump due to “partisan vengeance.” The lawyers believe the impeachment trial is only being pursued for political reasons.
While the lawyers are saying this, many people, including Trump’s allies too, including Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham, think that the case the lawyers are putting up is very weak and ineffective. Some Republicans even say that Trump’s team has been very disorganized, and has been avoiding talking about the topic itself.
