The Truth about New Vaccines
Saanvi Kunisetty
If you've been paying attention to the news recently, or just keeping up with the times, then you know that vaccines for COVID are out and about. Regardless of this, many people are still at a loss for hope, and conversate about the pandemic negatively. Of course, the pandemic has had a devastating impact on everyone and everything so far, but that doesn't mean that there's not a bright future in store.
In reality, all the five vaccines developed to fight against COVID-19 have proven to eliminate COVID-19 deaths. While the data available is minimal and we cannot be sure, it is still very encouraging.
People are expecting that the vaccines will rid our lives of coronavirus. What we are unaware of is that we simply cannot do this. The vaccines are actually designed to reduce the pandemic and are aimed toward that. Coronavirus has actually been around for a long long while. It appears in many forms and variants, even as the common cold. A specific form of it is what began the pandemic. So while the vaccines will never completely eliminate coronavirus, they can efficiently fight the necessary forms of it.
A common discussion that arises today surrounds variants. The recent ones in Africa, Brazil, and more, have been worrisome to many. Most people are concerned that these new variants cannot be fought against with the vaccines since they are more serious and deadly. That's actually not true though. So far, the vaccines have been showing great results on the variant in Africa too. While they may not be as efficient toward this new variant, they still do work properly.
