Phoenix
Saanvi Kunisetty
She was
High in the sky, nowhere to go but
Up
Everyday she grew taller
Her crown grew larger
And then-
She leaped off her safe haven
Travelled the raging lands
Soard the racing skies
Sailed the ruthless oceans
People asked
What was it all for
But an
Unknown land
She felt for her crown
Knowing it was
Long-gone
Her fire was losing
Power
Her thirst growing
Stronger
A quiver - a flicker
And she was nothing but
Ashes
Yet she waited
Through rain, hail, and snow
And then-
Reborn from her ashes
She flew higher and higher
Reaching heights
Unimagined
She is
An emblem of love
And perseverance
She is
A phoenix
A phoenix; with a crown -
A crown of feathers
