Fuzzy Mud by Louis Sachar Review by Aditi Patel

Fuzzy Mud is a really interesting book by Louis Sachar. It starts off a little slow, but then before you know it there is a lot of suspense in it. The story revolves around two friends who end up going through woods one day when trying to escape from a bully. In the woods, they notice a weird type of “mud”, that looks very different. The bully follows the two friends into the woods, when one of the friends picks up the weird looking mud and throws it at the bully’s face. The bully does not show up at school the next day. The story talks about an epidemic in essence, and a serious disease that results from this mud. It also pertains to the global threats to society, and that aspect makes the novel very interesting. Fuzzy Mud really dives deep into what happens when something threatens a society, and that too found in nature which is uncontrollable. This book is also a really quick read, but is also very engaging at the same time. I would definitely recommend this book, as it is very fascinating and quick to read.
