Overturned by Lamar Giles Review by Aditi Patel

Overturned was a really interesting book to read. The story revolves around a mystery of who killed the main character, Nikki’s father and her father’s business associate. Her father had gone to jail because he was convicted of killing his own business associate. Her father had even gone to deathrow, but then was saved and found innocent. In search of who framed him, her father eventually is killed. Nikki’s father owns a really big casino, in which he himself is found dead. The fact that Nikki’s father played poker and had a casino was what caused him to go to jail, because it seemed suspicious. Nikki was happy when her father had come home, hoping everything would be back to normal, but that did not happen. Instead, Nikki went on the search of who framed her father now, hoping to find the mysteries and hidden secrets. The book was very engaging and interesting. It’s a short book, and filled with suspense all throughout the novel. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense, crime, and thriller.
