South Korea is known for its cosmetic industry, architecture, food, and most importantly, music. Korean Pop, also known as K-pop has been getting increasingly popular throughout the years. One of the most famous bands is names “Bangtan Sonyeondan” (BTS) which is produced by the company BigHit.  Bangtan Sonyeondan translates to Bulletproof Boy Scouts. The bullets represent hate and criticism and some of their songs talk about this issue. Their fanbase is called “ARMY” which stands for Adorable Representation for MC Youth. Unlike most groups in K-Pop, BTS produces their own music and some members write the lines. BTS consists of seven members. Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, and Jeon Jungkook. They range from 21-26 years old.

BTS  has been known for its meaningful lyrics and music videos. Everything they have released has been one big story, each adding onto the next. The reason why I like BTS’s songs is because of the story behind them. In modern-day music, rap songs make no sense and it is just a bunch of words. They say random things but each of BTS’s songs has a lot of meaning to it. They talk about major social issues around the world, like mental illness, depression, money, self-love, and much more. For example, one of the lyrics in Fake Love is “I’m wishing love was perfect I’m praying, you don’t realize deep inside that I’m broken, I trusted in a dream a hopeless cause, now I watch the flowers as they wither.” Their songs don’t talk about loving another person, but loving themselves because we don't love ourselves for who we are. One of their most recent songs (Idol) is to all of their haters and they talk about how they love themselves and how haters don't get to them. They all contain serious morals that you can take away. They have great messages that teach you about these issues and how they need more attention. They are also a very active group and produce many songs. They have produced around 53 songs in 2018 itself. Their singing and dancing is incredible and everything is coordinated. They work very hard on their work and have gained lot’s of fame throughout these years.
