Coffee and Quiet, a poem By: Aditi Anumolu

Coffee and Quiet

By: Aditi Anumolu

The aroma of coffee always lulls me awake

It's a gentle warmth with every sip I take

I love the steam as it curls

Dancing like tiny wisps in swirls

The warmth is like an embrace

A quiet calm in a small space

Each moment makes me long to stay

But I know that the world will whisk me away

As the coffee drains away

I rush out in a pace that is fast

The calm I held cannot stay

I leave sad that the moment is now in the past
