Self-Care Does Not Need to be Extravagant by Krish Shah

Self-Care Does Not Need to be Extravagant by Krish Shah

Self-Care is the process of taking care of yourself. It does not need to be an extremely complex and expensive skin care routine, a good night's sleep in a fancy bed, or avoiding work for the entire day. In other words, the concept of having an extremely lascivious routine that involves hours of care is not necessary. The true definition of self-care is “the intentional practice of nurturing mental, emotional, and physical well-being” (“Self-Care”). The definition proves the idea that self-care does not need to be over the top, it solely involves ensuring that you're mentally and physically healthy. Acts of self care can be extremely simple. Examples include taking medicine, taking breaks from work when it becomes extremely overwhelming, taking a nap when you are exhausted, or washing your face and moisturizing during the morning and night time. These are just a few examples that prove that self-care can be extremely simple and does not need to be over the top.
