Summer Adventures
By: Sachi Dixit
Summer always feels like freedom. The days are longer, the weather
is warm, and there is no school to stress about. Instead of waking up early
for class, I wake up excited to go outside and meet my friends. Every day
feels like it’s waiting for something fun to happen, and I never know what
adventure we’ll end up having.
One of my favorite parts of summer is riding our bikes around the
neighborhood and going to Wawa. We race each other down the streets,
laughing and trying not to fall behind. When we get there, we grab snacks
and cold drinks and sit by the fountain in our neighborhood and talk about
everything and nothing at the same time. t might seem simple, but in those
moments, it feels like everything is on pause, and that all that matters is
now.
After that, we usually head to the nearby playground or just hang
out outside until it starts getting dark. We play games, listen to music, and
joke around. Sometimes we lose track of time because we’re having so
much fun. The sky slowly changes colors, but none of us wants the day to
end.
What really makes these summer adventures special is being
together. I know I’ll always remember the bike rides, the Wawa trips, and
the nights at the playground. Even when summer is over, those memories
stay with me. They remind me of laughter, friendship, and some of the
happiest days of the year.
