The Power of Music by Aaliyah Sharma

The Power of Music By Aaliyah Sharma

Some people find peace in long walks, others in journaling, but for me, it’s always been music. It’s strange how a few notes can capture emotions that words fail to describe. On days when everything feels overwhelming, when grades, friendships, and the future all blur together, music has this quiet way of making everything feel calm. It’s not just entertainment; it’s a way to cope with the outside world.

There’s something powerful about how a song can completely change your state of mind. Slow melodies can turn panic into calm, while a fast beat can pull you out of exhaustion and make you energetic again. Sometimes, I listen to songs that perfectly describe what I’m feeling. Other times, I use music to feel what I want to feel.

Over time, I’ve realized that certain songs become tied to memories. A summer playlist can instantly bring back the smell of sunscreen and the sound of laughter; a sad song can reopen a moment you thought you’d forgotten. These connections remind me how deeply music connects with our lives.

What fascinates me most is how universal music is. It fills gaps between people who might have nothing else in common. Two people can come from completely different worlds but still find connection in the same lyrics. In a society that often feels divided, music unites us, even for just a few minutes.

In the end, I think that’s why music matters so much; it gives shape to the emotions we can’t explain, and it connects us when words fall short. So the next time life feels too heavy or too loud, try pressing play. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is let the music speak for you.
