Rain, a poem by Sahana Sunilkumar

 Rain

By: Sahana Sunilkumar

The Sun shining ever so bright

This just reminds you of its tremendous might!

The day is so hot and sultry

Oh No! Nothing special at sight.

In a moment....

Petrichor fills the air curing your angst,

"How sumptuous is the rain"

the Aesthete inside you exclaim!

Your lassitude washed away

Not a scintilla of guilt while you sway in the rain!

The pitter-patter of the raindrops

is so mellifluous to your ears

Euphoria filling your heart,

the rain is something you will cherish until you depart!

The rain tremendously demure,

Your felicity aboard is so bold!

The beauty of rain isn't some epiphany,

Yet the truth you have always known!

How the rain makes you smile is so quintessential,

it takes you to life so tranquil!

It is wild yet filled with elegance,

which makes you feel fresh and eloquent!

Every time it touches the earth it seems to remain pristine

How dulcet it feels, bringing out every inch of your ebullience!

So you see....

And that is how a Pluviophile like me,

can describe something that feels like it is out of a Dream!
