Stephenie Meyer

Stephenie Meyer is best known for being the author of the Twilight saga, my favorite series, along with numerous other books, including dystopian novels such as The Host. Generally, her novels tend to be romances in fantasy and science fiction-based worlds. As an author, she holds a special place in my heart for writing the Twilight Saga, a story about a human girl who falls in love with a vampire. The fantasy world developed by Meyer really has the potential to whisk me away into another world. What specifically drew me to her as an author was her ability to provide vivid descriptions, and allow the reader to feel as though they are part of the story through the emotions that they experience. As far as Twilight, the idea came to her in a dream, which she converted into a book in just three months! At first, she had no names for Edward or Bella, so she would just write he/she. Meyer was born in Hartford, CT, on December 24, 1973. Her husband’s name is Christian Meyer, and their sons are Seth, Eli, and Gabe Meyer. Her mother and father are Candy and Stephen Morgan, her brothers are Seth, Jacob, and Paul Morgan, and her sisters' names are Heidi and Emily Morgan. Something interesting to note is that the wolves in the Twilight Saga are named after her brothers! This striked me as a great thing to do, relating personal life to the book being written in order to make the writing more relatable and close to home. Aside from writing, I found that Meyer had many other interests and talents that she continues to pursue in her spare time. Her many hobbies include film producing, spending time with family, reading, and listening to music from bands (like Muse, Animal Collective, Silversun Pickups, Death Weather, and Grizzly Bears).
