My Personal Review of the book "A Raisin in the Sun" by Lorraine Hansberry
The play, "A Raisin in the Sun" by Lorraine Hansberry is a Drama that focuses on the lives of the Youngers, a black family living in Chicago in the 1950s. The book revolves around the various hardships that the family faces. The main focal point of the book is to move the family out of the poorer parts of Chicago. The characters are very dynamic, generally contradicting each other and exacting in their own manner. I found the book to be very entertaining as I watched the characters change as the book progressed. However, I did not like how the book rushed through the chapters with Beneatha and took their time with Walter. I also was not a fan of how the book shifted the characters from one mindset to the next as well. Overall, I would recommend this book to someone who finds these topics interesting however it can still be enjoyable to someone who doesn't.
