The Mexican American War : a poem by Sanjana Puratchimani

  The Mexican American War

          Sanjana Puratchimani

It started with manifest destiny,

And ended with bloodshed.

Six young boys fight for their country,

While Americans fire cannons.

What we did was wrong,

Bullying a weaker nation into our arms.

The forgotten war in our history

Makes us all feel defeated inside.

America didn’t win that day,

There was a severe loss.
