Introverts vs. Extroverts - Advantages of Each by Varshiini Ramesh

Introverts vs. Extroverts - Advantages of Each

Before we go right into the information, picture this scenario: You’re assigned a project in Biology class, and you’re supposed to work with three other people you don’t know. Would you just work by yourself, or would you actually try to communicate with your group members? Well, there’s not really a correct answer, and that’s because your decisions are always based on your personality. To start off, your personality is a huge factor in your decisions because you choose what you want to do based on your comfortability. For instance, if you decide to actually communicate with your group members, you would be considered an extrovert, a person who loves socializing with others, working in groups, and expressing themselves to everyone. On the other hand, if you decide to work by yourself and have only little interaction with your group members, you would be considered an introvert, a person who prefers to stay quiet, doesn’t like to mingle with too many people at once, and a person who likes spending time by themselves. Though some introverts may possess extrovert qualities and vice-versa, the most important thing is how you’re living your life for yourself, and not for others. Therefore, not everyone is the same person, and extroverts/introverts have their own advantages.

Introverts and extroverts both can have an equally happy life, except in different ways. Everyone has their own values, and again, that makes them enjoy their life in different ways. However, there are some advantages for both that will help them to live their life the way they want to. First, extroverts have the advantage of making friends easily because they will meet a lot of new people in the future and they’ll need to learn how to make friends easily in our job and personal life. Making friends easily is a really good advantage because we need social skills to thrive in our job, and as well as our personal life to keep ourselves balanced. Also, extroverts have the advantage of becoming a leader in certain areas of their life (work, family, business, etc.), and it’s important because they’ll be able to convey more ideas to everyone. Though extroverts and introverts are similar since they both do socialize at one point or another, introverts have a different method of processing. On the other hand, introverts have the advantage of thinking before they speak, and this is very beneficial for them since they don't have to get involved in unnecessary issues after they process the consequences. Additionally, introverts are really observant even if they don’t socialize much, and I feel this is an important quality for them since they can note other’s body language, facial expressions, etc. to form a connection with them. Therefore, both introverts and extroverts have the capability of getting important relationships in their life, but just in different but effective ways.
