Halloween Night, a poem By: Sachi Dixit

 Halloween Night

By: Sachi Dixit

Cold air drifts through the streets

while the sky turns a deep shade of black.

Pumpkins glow on front steps,

their crooked smiles lighting up the dark

Kids run from house to house

with bags full of candy and laughter,

costumes rustling in the wind

like little ghosts passing by.

Leaves crunch under every step,

and somewhere far away

a door creaks open

for the next group of trick-or-treaters.

The moon hangs over everything,

watching the glowing streets below.

For one night, the world feels strange

a little spooky, a little magical.

Because on Halloween night

the ordinary disappears,

and even the quietest streets

feel full of mystery.
