8th Grade Days
By: Sachi Dixit
We laughed in halls,
Shoes on the floor.
Every joke, every secret,
We wanted more.
Friends by my side,
Giggles every day.
Locker doors slammed,
Backpacks in a pile.
I didn’t see the magic,
Not then at all.
Until it changed,
And new faces called.
Friends moved away,
Halls felt brand new.
Everything familiar
Drifted away
Now I look back,
Memories so clear.
The laughter, the fun,
Moments I hold on to.
I wish I had known,
Wished I had seen,
How golden those days
Really had been.
