Trebuchet, a poem by Abhinav Aradhi

Trebuchet

You are the breath of a hurricane,

Tethered to the feeble air,

A genie in the sky,

On a humble cloud.

You are the ferocity of a quake,

That shakes the earth with vigor,

A dragon on the ground,

Crystal ball in hand.

Omnipotent,

All consuming,

It’s all you’ve ever wanted.

To be immortal.

Come, tremor,

Have a sip of tea,

Then rape Gaea

With your unending virility.

Die, tremor, die!

Die, tremor die!

Die, tremor die!

Die, tremor, die!

Like a trebuchet,

Fire back at me,

If you dare,

Tsunami.

Just a little wave, no?

Just a little wave, no?

Just a little wave, no?

Just a little wave no?

Lift me up and make me yours,

By blowing my organs straight clear out of my body.

Lift me up and let me loose,

Tornado.

What a gale force, huh?

What a gale force, huh?

What a gale force, huh?

What a gale force, huh?

Forces of nature unite,

Come together,

In a wicked display of light.
