Who was Betty White? by Sravya Chunduru

 Who was Betty White?

Betty White was an American actress and comedian. She started her career as a radio/ early television host. Then, in 1962, she made her first film debut as Elizabeth Ames Adams in Advice and Content. Born on January 17, 1922, Betty Marion White Ludden was immediately recognized as a carefree, happy child. Fresh out of Highschool, she started working as a model. After the United States entered the war in 1941, she volunteered for the American Women’s Voluntary Services as a PX truck driver. After the war ends, she starts looking for jobs in the movie industry but was rejected for “not being photogenic.” Instead of giving up, she went on looking for other jobs such as a radio host where being photogenic or not didn’t matter. Years progressed and she only got bigger and bigger. Starring in her own Betty White Show and other television talk shows, she grew to fame. Being in the industry for over 8 decades, she was a true role model for actors and actresses. Her death was heartbreaking not to mention the fact that she was but a few weeks away from hitting the ripe age of 100. A sensation, she will be missed.
