Poems by Aishwarya Subramaniam

 Colors

Colors are all around us

So bright you see, because they surround us!

Vibrant, vibrant! They add more to the world

Some colors appear swirled or twirled

Colors can be dull, or sad!

They can be bright and mad

But colors can make us glad!

Flowers

Delicate and fragile,

Flowers cannot travel

Their beauty remains in a single spot

Nourished by water and the sun’s heart

Book

I got a new book from the library

I plan to read it before bed

Read it when I am walking the dog

Before school

After a morning jog

I will read it in the car

Or in the store

A good book can be bizarre

Halloween

Children dress up as ghosts and ghouls

Some of their jumpscares can be very cruel

Costumes, decorations, parties, and more!

Trick or Treating is a popular tradition

But some don’t go out at all, due to superstition

Halloween is a spooky holiday

Don’t go out on your own, or stray

Summer

School’s out

It’s time to party about

Get caught up on a good book

Or change up your look

Extra studying can pass your time

So can hanging with your friends

Summer is the time to do everything you want to do!
