भूल जाओ
(bhool jao in hindi translated to forget)
A short poem on dementia through the eyes of its beholder
by Anushka Bhatt
In a room filled with memories,
She searches for a name,
Fingers tracing the photograph,
A face, but not the same.
Her words drift like autumn leaves,
Falling soft, then gone,
The world, it spins and shifts,
But still she lingers on.
She speaks of days now distant,
A son she cannot see,
A life once full of laughter,
Now echoes in the sea.
The mind, a fragile garden,
Where flowers fade away,
Leaving only whispers
Of who she was yesterday.
