By Vihaan Mehta
I want to be the best. I want to earn fame. I love this sport. I cannot fail.
Have you ever heard any sports athlete say this to you? Are you the sports athlete who is constantly thinking about the fame and competition in whatever sport you adore? Millions and millions of people play sports each day. It could just be a hobby or it could be a career they are trying to accomplish. Though, have you ever thought about what sports teaches you?
From the perspective of a professional sports player, playing a sport is a very difficult task. To begin with, There are many ups and downs in their careers which teach them one very important lesson. Mental well-being. Any sport teaches a person how to condition their mind and become mentally strong. As a sports player, you can learn the art of mental toughness. A sport teaches you how to overcome those bad days and bad people. This can later help in life and make one stronger.
Moving on, sports teaches the art of discipline and hardwork. In order to win the ICC World Cup trophy, Ballon D'or, NBA championship, Olympic gold medal or any big or small award. Athletes have to be disciplined with their training and work ethic. An example can be that the player has to wake up on time for early morning sessions and be disciplined by not attending late night clubs or wasting any other time. Discipline and Hardwork can be used outside of sports in normal day-to-day life as it is a key part to achieve your goals and master the success
Adding on, playing a sport helps you be more social and it is a great way to entertain yourself with friends and families. Instead of spending time at home, why not go outside and try a fun sport like Cricket, Basketball, Soccer etc.
To conclude, sports teaches various life lessons. It keeps our body healthy and active. So why not try out a sport and join in with the fun!!!
