Tartarus, a poem by Abhinav Aradhi

Tartarus

Sometimes I think

That you’ll end up in Elysium,

Right beside me.

Forever entwined with ribbons.

And sometimes I realize

That you’ll end up in Punishment,

Right beside me.

Forever wrapped in nettles.

Do you want to be with me?

For eternity,

Our souls casting glances longingly?

Across the Acheron?

Or would you rather forget,

About our mortality?

Would you want to go

And cross the Lethe?

God, I think I love you,

You horrible man,

I think I’d commit atrocities,

To be cast in hell with you again.

Oh, I think I hate you,

You wonderful man,

I think I’d reform my criminal acts,

To be tossed into the skies again.

Would you do the same for me?

Would you change your morality,

Just for my sake?

What are your limits?

Let us become monsters,

Creatures of wicked Nyx,

And terrorize all those

We once fraternized with.

Would you still make love to me,

With Tartarus watching?
