One Day - Poem by Bryce Agnew

One day the plants are gone

The air tainted

Skies dark

Air balloons deflated

Garbage littering the beaches

and beyond

Musicians only able to play

The saddest of songs

The oblivious children

Wanting to play outside

Their parents holding them back

For they fear the disease outside

Ignorant adults refusing to listen

Calling climate change a hoax

Letting the planet fill with

Wildfires and smoke

The food chain broken

Without any more plants

The base of many food chains

Dying off due to the money hungry’s rants

Maybe it isn’t too late

For people to change

Or maybe it is too late

And activists are going down in vain

Yes, The ultra greedy

Are killing them off

Rainforest protectors

And true heroes, stopped

Hopefully, one day, all people will see

Announce a united decree

Agreeing to put profits last and prioritize trees,

Wildfires, marine life, glaciers all seen
