Advice for Freshmen by Annamika Dua

It's officially the “Sunday” of our summer vacation and almost time for going back to school. For us seniors it means our last year of walking these halls. But for the freshman, it is their first time being in such an enormous crowd. It can be pretty overwhelming at first, but like everyone says, it definitely gets better. I have compiled a list of things that I wish I knew as a freshman so that maybe I can help some of them out:

● Have fun, but make sure to always stay focused on what is really important

 ● Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there

 ● You might not be friends with who you were with in middle school and that’s okay

● Plan ahead, and remember that every year DOES count, not matter what other people say

● Follow your dreams and follow them with passion

● Just do your homework, it’ll help in the long run

● Don’t be embarrassed if you like a certain sport or club; do whatever makes you happy

● Have a good relationship with your teachers because they’re always going to be there to help

● Don’t get too caught up in gossip; it won’t even matter 10 years from now

Movie Review of Nerve by Annamika Dua

The movie Nerve starring Emma Roberts and Dave Franco was a great movie. It recently came out on July 27. This movie was about a girl, Vee, who decides to play an online game in which she can either be a “player” or “watcher”. Watchers must pay money to the game to watch, and players earn money every time they complete a dare. Vee chooses to be a player because she is sick of her friends making fun of her and telling her she doesn’t take risks. Vee then goes on a thrilling adventure throughout the night, wanting to keep earning more and more money. Overall, the movie was very interesting and each scene had something captivating about it. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes watching crime movies. Although this movie does not have too much crime per se, it will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat, wanting Vee to stay alive.

My Rating: 4.5/5 stars
